Arenal – Playa Hermosa 1 week

Day 1

Arrival at airport and transfer to hotel in San José.

Day 2

We will drive to Poás Volcano National Park in the morning, passing coffee and sugar plantations. Poás Volcano is an active volcano surrounded by a cloud forest. Here we can observe fumaroles’ activity and even look inside the crater! After spending a while in this national park, we continue our way to the lowlands north of the Arenal Volcano. You will arrive at your hotel in the afternoon, and the rest of the day will be free for optional activities.

Day 3

For the morning you have two different activities to choose from: horseback riding or hiking to La Fortuna Waterfall. In the afternoon you get your hiking gear to visit the most active volcano in the country, Arenal Volcano. During the hike you can enjoy the rain forest, old lava flows and wild animals such as toucans, monkeys, peccaries and agoutis. Your professional naturalist guide will help you spot these animals. After approximately 3 hours in the forest it is time to relax at the hot springs of Arenal!

Day 4

Today we will drive approximately 4 hours through the mountains of the Guanacaste Mountain Range and around Lake Arenal, heading to Hermosa Beach on the Pacific coast. Hermosa is a quiet and beautiful place for resting or for water activities such as snorkeling, diving and kayaking.

Day 5

Free day for optional activities or just relax.

Day 6

Transfer to San José
